CALL FOR PAPERS

I would like to host a session at Codemotion, what do I need to do?
Take part in our Call for Submissions! To submit your session idea, please register by our website and submit a new session form for each idea. A detailed description can be found below. The more precise and complete the information you submit, the easier for us to select your session.

What information do you need from me?
We need information concerning your session idea including the topic, a brief description of the content, format (long or short talk), experience level, as well as some personal information.

What are the selection criteria?
Selection criteria include: the quality and completeness of your proposal and how well your proposed session fits into the program. Talks should concentrate on the implementation of systems, technical topics, real world applications and case studies. All presentations must be noncommercial. We won’t accept product presentations.

When is the deadline for applications?
The Call for Submissions ends on June 15, 2017. Proposals submitted after this date cannot be accepted.

How do I know if my session has been selected?
We will let you know a few weeks after the Call for Papers has been closed.

When does the content of my session need to be ready?
It is sufficient if your session is finalized on the day of your talk. We do not need your finished presentation beforehand. However, your submitted abstract will be published online in order to give visitors an idea of the expected content of your session. Due to that, your abstract is promotion for your own talk at the same time. We recommend on formulating your submission in an informal but informative way. Furthermore, make it short but sweet (hardly anyone reads more than half a page, so your sessions description is limited to 600 characters).

Do I, as a session host, get free admittance?
Of course!

I’ve already bought a ticket. As a speaker, will I get a refund?
You can resell your ticket and there are usually plenty of thankful takers to be found. You can also carry out a cancellation (But: the cancellation fees have to be paid by the attendees themselves).

Will I receive remuneration for my accepted talk?
No, unfortunately not.

Will you cover my travel and accommodation costs?
No, unfortunately not. If your company is looking after your travel costs, you’re welcome to send us the corporate logo for our website and become a travel partner.

Can I, as a representative of a company, take part in the Call for Submissions?
Of course you can. We do not, however, accept product presentations or marketing talks. If your company is interested in a sponsoring package, please contact us by the following mail address: berlin@codemotionworld.com

How long is my session going to be?
We have 20 and 40 minute slots. You can let us know your preference in your proposal.
